It was an admirable day in ISIN-LAND where Keycom Foundation held the grand opening of its factory and launched the multi-million farming machinery on the proposed site. This event was coupled with the official flag-off of the ‘Agbeloba’ contributory scheme, which positions farmers as associate members open to numerous benefits.
The event, which took place on Friday, 21st June 2024, at the permanent site of Keycom Foundation in Ajegunle, Oke-Onigbin, ISIN-LGA, Kwara State, was graced by several dignitaries, including the Onigbin of Oke-Onigbin, HRM Oba Alh. Salaudeen Kamaldeen, Baale of IWO Community, Esinkin Chief Osoolo, and many others. It was indeed a glorious event.
The Agbeloba contributory scheme, targeting farmers, aligns with the company’s motto, “Helping others to help themselves.” This scheme categorizes farmers into Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels based on the quantity supplied, with corresponding benefits such as access to agrochemicals, farm security, health seminars, loans, and mechanization support. It aims to help farmers combat challenges from land clearing to harvesting and address recent insecurity issues in ISIN-LAND. By providing discounted and subsidized agrochemicals, non-interest loans, health seminars, and mechanization assistance, the scheme empowers farmers to increase productivity and sustainability.
The program began with the arrival of guests and dignitaries, followed by official registration and distribution of the program agenda. The national anthem was sung, honoring our dear motherland. The floor was declared open with prayers from the invited All-Saint’s Vicar-in-Charge, Canon E.O Ogundere. The program then kickstarted with soft music interludes and a keynote address by Mr. Elijah Morakinyo, the COO of Keycom Foundation, who explained the purpose of the gathering.
Mr. Niyi Hinmikaye, the Foundation’s Internal Marketer, provided a brief history of Keycom and the inception of the Agbeloba contributory scheme, thanking attendees as the program progressed. The event also included a visit to the proposed factory site, led by the site engineer and COO, Mr. Morakinyo Elijah, who explained the foundation’s structure in detail. The inspection was blessed by the Royal Father of the day, HRM Oba Salaudeen Kamaldeen, who expressed his joy and encouraged farmers to support Keycom’s initiatives.
The program’s chair, HRM Oba Salaudeen Kamaldeen, welcomed the dignitaries and attendees. Following the site inspection and blessing, Mrs. J Malik, an experienced health official, spoke on the importance of good health for farmers, emphasizing regular health checks and early detection of illnesses. Her talk was followed by testimonials from community leaders who have benefited from Keycom Foundation’s previous initiatives, including subsidized herbicides, fertilizers, and non-interest loans.
The official flag-off and ribbon-cutting ceremony showcased the new machines procured by the foundation. The Royal Father of the Day had the honor of cutting the ribbon, revealing the Combined Thresher and Winnower, which were explained in detail by Mr. Morakinyo Elijah. An interactive session followed, where farmers and attendees asked questions and received answers on health, the Agbeloba scheme, and other topics.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the Royal Father of the day, a thank-you note to all participants, and the sharing of light refreshments. The program ended with photo sessions and a music breakaway, marking the start of a greater future for the community.
Under the leadership of CEO and Visionary Dr. Emmanuel Oyebanre and the Keycom Foundation Board of Directors in Austria, the program aims to curb insecurity, provide support to farmers, and ensure food sustainability in ISIN-LAND. Keycom Foundation has made significant strides in empowering farmers through non-interest loans, subsidized agrochemicals, and more, aiming to put ISIN-LAND at the forefront of agricultural development.
